Reuniting with your Intuition: The Magic of Validation

Ever feel lost? Like you’re stuck in life and don’t know what to do or how to get out of the rut you’re in? Maybe you even feel you can’t trust your own judgment. You might constantly doubt yourself.

This uncertainty and self-doubt can wreak havox on your wellbeing and is at the core of many mental health conditions, including depression and anxiety. Emotional manipulators and gaslighters intentionally induce this uncertainty in their victims, often with devaststating consequences. If you’ve ever been told you’re too sensitive or feel like you shouldn’t be feeling what you’re feeling or thinking what you’re thinking, validation may be the key to trusting yourself again.

Validation involves acknowledging and accepting your feelings and experiences without judgment. It means recognizing and affirming your emotions, thoughts, and experiences without dismissing, trivializing, or criticizing them. This is a fundamental step in beginning to trust yourself and your intuition.

The First Step to Reconnecting with Your Intuition: Self Validation

To begin your journey of reconnecting with your intuition, start with self-validation. When dealing with your thoughts and emotions, become aware that it’s okay to feel the way you do. Acknowledge your feelings without judgment. This is a crucial step in managing them effectively.

Many of us were conditioned to suppress or repress, push down, or bottle up “negative” emotions. Check with yourself. Do you feel badly if you experience anger, jealousy, sadness, or other “negative” emotions? Don’t. These are natural human emotions, and ignoring or repressing them just adds shame to the mix. Only after validating your thoughts and emotions can you move forward in regaining your self-trust and connecting to your intuition.
